Products shipped outside the European Union may be invoiced excluding French or European taxes where applicable.

Article 8 – Right of withdrawal, returns and refunds
8.1 Legal right of withdrawal
In accordance with applicable consumer law, consumers located in the European Union, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom have a period of fourteen (14) days from the day on which they, or a third party designated by them other than the carrier, physically receive the goods, to exercise their legal right of withdrawal or cancellation without having to give any reason.
Where an order contains several goods delivered separately, the withdrawal period starts from the day on which the consumer, or a third party designated by them other than the carrier, physically receives the last good.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, the customer must inform SAS Plum Village at Home of their decision to withdraw by a clear and unambiguous statement sent by email to:
The customer must mention the relevant order number and specify whether the withdrawal concerns the whole order or only part of the order.
The mere refusal of delivery or the mere return of the goods without a clear withdrawal statement does not constitute a valid exercise of the right of withdrawal.
If the fourteen-day period expires on a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday, it shall be extended to the next working day where required by applicable law.
8.2 Customers located outside the European Union, the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom
For customers located outside the European Union, the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, the legal right of withdrawal applies only where required by applicable mandatory law.
Where no mandatory legal right of withdrawal applies, returns may be accepted by SAS Plum Village at Home on a case-by-case basis as a commercial gesture, under the conditions set out below.
To request such a return, the customer must contact SAS Plum Village at Home by email at orders@plumvillage.shop within fourteen (14) days of receiving the order, stating the order number, the products concerned and the reason for the return request.
No product may be returned without prior written approval from SAS Plum Village at Home and without following the return instructions provided.
If a return is accepted as a commercial gesture:
- return shipping costs are borne by the customer;
- SAS Plum Village at Home may provide a return shipping label, the cost of which may be charged to the customer or deducted from any refund;
- customs duties, import taxes, local taxes, carrier advancement fees, customs clearance fees, brokerage fees, storage fees and any other import-related charges will not be refunded;
- any costs charged to SAS Plum Village at Home in connection with the return, including return shipping, customs, storage, disposal or carrier fees, may be deducted from any refund, where permitted by applicable law;
- initial delivery costs may be excluded from the refund unless SAS Plum Village at Home expressly agrees otherwise or unless reimbursement is required by applicable mandatory law.
Returned products must be complete, unused, undamaged and suitable for resale, with all accessories, labels, protective materials and, where possible, original packaging.
SAS Plum Village at Home reserves the right to refuse any return or reduce any refund where the product is returned damaged, incomplete, used, unsealed where sealing is required for hygiene or health protection reasons, or otherwise unsuitable for resale.
8.3 Products excluded from the right of withdrawal
The right of withdrawal does not apply, in particular, to:
- goods made to the customer’s specifications or clearly personalised;
- goods liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly;
- sealed goods which have been unsealed after delivery and which cannot be returned for reasons of hygiene or health protection;
- digital content supplied without a physical medium where performance has begun with the customer’s prior express consent and acknowledgement of the loss of the right of withdrawal, where applicable.
These exceptions apply only where permitted by applicable law.
8.4 Return shipping method and return costs
In the event of withdrawal, return shipping costs are borne by the customer, unless SAS Plum Village at Home expressly agrees to bear them or unless the return is due to an error, defect, non-conformity or damage for which SAS Plum Village at Home is responsible.
To ensure proper tracking and handling of returns, SAS Plum Village at Home may provide the customer with a return shipping label and instructions after receiving the withdrawal request.
Where a return label is provided by SAS Plum Village at Home for a withdrawal return, the cost of this return label remains at the customer’s expense. This cost may either be paid by the customer before the return label is issued or deducted from the refund, as indicated by SAS Plum Village at Home.
The customer must follow the return instructions provided by SAS Plum Village at Home and use the return label supplied, unless SAS Plum Village at Home expressly agrees otherwise in writing.
If the customer returns the goods using another carrier or shipping method without the prior written agreement of SAS Plum Village at Home, the customer remains responsible for any additional costs, loss, delay, damage, customs issue or delivery failure resulting from that choice.
Products must be returned complete, unused, undamaged and, where possible, in their original packaging, with all accessories, notices, labels and protective materials.
The customer is responsible for ensuring that the products are properly packed and protected for return shipment.
Cash-on-delivery returns will not be accepted.
For returns from outside the European Union, the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, the customer is responsible for any return shipping costs, customs formalities, customs duties, import taxes, export charges, carrier fees, brokerage fees or any other costs related to the return shipment, unless the return is due to an error, defect, non-conformity or damage for which SAS Plum Village at Home is responsible.
The customer must follow the return instructions provided by SAS Plum Village at Home. Any customs declaration must clearly identify the parcel as a return of goods.
SAS Plum Village at Home shall not be responsible for customs delays, customs refusal, additional customs charges, abandoned parcels or parcels returned to the customer due to incorrect or incomplete customs documentation provided by the customer or the carrier chosen by the customer without prior written agreement.
Any costs charged to SAS Plum Village at Home in connection with an international return may be deducted from the refund, where permitted by applicable law.
8.5 Return address
Unless otherwise instructed in writing by SAS Plum Village at Home, returns must be sent to:
SAS Plum Village at Home
37 chemin du Pey
24240 Thénac
France
The customer must not return products to any other address without prior written instruction from SAS Plum Village at Home.
8.6 Refunds in case of withdrawal
In the event of valid exercise of a legal right of withdrawal, SAS Plum Village at Home will refund the customer for the returned products and, in the case of full withdrawal from the order, the standard initial delivery costs paid at the time of the order.
If the customer expressly chose a delivery method that was more expensive than the standard delivery method offered, SAS Plum Village at Home will not refund the additional delivery cost.
Return shipping costs remain at the customer’s expense in the event of withdrawal.
Where SAS Plum Village at Home provides a return shipping label, the cost of this label may be deducted from the refund, unless SAS Plum Village at Home has expressly agreed to bear the return shipping costs.
For deliveries outside the European Union, the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, customs duties, import taxes, local taxes, carrier advancement fees, customs clearance fees, brokerage fees, storage fees and any other import-related charges are not part of the initial delivery costs charged by SAS Plum Village at Home and will not be refunded.
Any costs charged to SAS Plum Village at Home in connection with an international return, including return shipping, customs, storage, disposal or carrier fees, may be deducted from the refund, where permitted by applicable law.
Refunds will be made using the same means of payment as the one used for the initial transaction, unless expressly agreed otherwise.
SAS Plum Village at Home may withhold the refund until it has received the returned goods or until the customer has supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever occurs first.
In the case of partial withdrawal, initial shipping costs will not be refunded unless required by applicable law or unless the returned item alone made the initial shipping cost higher.
SAS Plum Village at Home may reduce the refund to reflect any reduction in the value of the goods resulting from handling other than what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and proper functioning.
Article 9 – Delivery, damaged parcels, lost parcels and international shipping
9.1 Delivery address
Products are delivered to the delivery address provided by the customer during the ordering process.
The customer is responsible for ensuring that the delivery information provided is complete, accurate and up to date.
SAS Plum Village at Home shall not be liable for delivery failure, delay, return or loss resulting from an incorrect or incomplete address provided by the customer.
If a parcel is returned to SAS Plum Village at Home due to an incorrect or incomplete address, failure to collect the parcel, refusal of delivery, or the customer’s unavailability, SAS Plum Village at Home may charge the customer for any additional shipping, return, storage or reshipment costs.
9.2 Delivery times
SAS Plum Village at Home will make every reasonable effort to dispatch orders within the estimated timeframe indicated on the website or during the ordering process.
Unless otherwise agreed, orders will be delivered no later than thirty (30) days after the conclusion of the contract.
In the event of a delivery delay exceeding the legal or agreed delivery period, the customer may contact SAS Plum Village at Home to request delivery within an additional reasonable period.
If delivery does not occur within that additional period, the customer may cancel the order under the conditions provided by applicable law.
9.3 Damaged parcel or damaged goods upon delivery
The customer is invited to check the condition of the parcel and the products upon delivery.
If the parcel is visibly damaged, opened, wet, crushed or otherwise abnormal, the customer should, where possible:
- refuse the parcel; or
- accept the parcel with clear written reservations made to the carrier; and
- notify SAS Plum Village at Home as soon as possible by email at orders@plumvillage.shop, with the order number, photos of the parcel, photos of the damaged goods and any relevant delivery document.
Failure to make reservations with the carrier does not deprive the consumer of their legal rights, but it may make the claim more difficult to process with the carrier.
SAS Plum Village at Home may request additional information or photographs in order to assess the claim and open an investigation with the carrier.
Where the damage is confirmed and falls under SAS Plum Village at Home’s responsibility, SAS Plum Village at Home may, depending on the situation and product availability, offer a replacement, a partial refund or a full refund.
9.4 Lost parcels
A parcel will not be considered lost solely because of a delivery delay.
Where a parcel appears to be delayed or lost, SAS Plum Village at Home will open an investigation with the carrier.
The customer must cooperate in good faith with SAS Plum Village at Home and the carrier, including by confirming non-receipt of the parcel and providing any document reasonably required for the carrier’s investigation.
If the carrier confirms that the parcel has been lost before delivery to the customer, SAS Plum Village at Home will offer, depending on product availability, either reshipment of the order or a refund.
If the tracking information shows that the parcel was delivered to the address provided by the customer, SAS Plum Village at Home may request additional evidence and open an investigation with the carrier before deciding whether a reshipment or refund is appropriate.
SAS Plum Village at Home shall not be liable for loss resulting from an incorrect or incomplete delivery address provided by the customer, failure to collect the parcel within the carrier’s timeframe, or circumstances attributable to the customer.
9.5 Failed delivery, unclaimed parcels and refused parcels
If a parcel is returned to SAS Plum Village at Home because it was refused, not collected within the carrier’s timeframe, or could not be delivered due to an incorrect or incomplete address provided by the customer, SAS Plum Village at Home will contact the customer.
The customer may request reshipment, subject to payment of the additional shipping costs.
If the customer does not request reshipment or does not pay the additional shipping costs within a reasonable period, SAS Plum Village at Home may cancel the order and refund the price of the returned products, after deduction of any return shipping, storage, customs, carrier or handling costs charged to SAS Plum Village at Home, where permitted by applicable law.
Initial shipping costs are non-refundable in such circumstances, except where required by applicable law.
9.6 International deliveries, customs and import charges
For deliveries outside the European Union, orders are shipped on a DAP / Delivered At Place basis, unless otherwise expressly stated.
The customer is the importer of record in the destination country and is solely responsible for any customs duties, import taxes, local taxes, customs clearance fees, carrier advancement or disbursement fees, brokerage fees and any other charges required by the authorities or by the carrier in the destination country.
These charges are not collected by SAS Plum Village at Home and are outside its control.
To avoid delays at customs, the carrier may advance duties and taxes on behalf of the customer so that the parcel can be released and delivered. The carrier may then invoice these amounts directly to the customer, including after delivery.
If the customer refuses to pay customs duties, import taxes or carrier fees, the parcel may be delayed, returned, abandoned or destroyed by the carrier or customs authorities.
In such case, SAS Plum Village at Home may deduct from any refund all costs charged to it, including return shipping, storage, customs, disposal, carrier or administrative costs, where permitted by applicable law.
Shipping costs are non-refundable in the event of refusal to pay customs duties, import taxes or carrier fees.
By placing an order for delivery outside the European Union, the customer acknowledges and accepts these conditions.
